一说到协裕面包西菓店，在新山可算得上是家喻户晓，只要在JB土生土长的居民一定都有听过。
他们家最著名的莫过于香蕉蛋糕。
此家特别之处，在于还用传统的窑，木材来烘制香喷喷
的面包和香蕉蛋糕。
第一次，经过时，看到外面摆满木材还以为是家私店。其实，都是用来烧烤用的。
如果要买刚出炉的蛋糕，时间是3.30pm 过后。通常卖不完的会留到明天早上卖。
而第一批面包则是在12.30pm 出炉。通常卖到2.30pm. 左右就完了。
当我们在享受美味的面包时，又可以参观旧式的烘烤技术，真的让品尝美食更上一层楼！

Signature Banana cake 蛋糕松软，香味四溢，让人欲罢不能。

Talk about Old school bakery in town, one would naturally think of Hiap Joo Bakery, the location is in the heart of the JB town area, Jalan Tan Hiok Nee road, or Cultural street, as the local like to call it. They are one of the 2 remaining bakery that still uses wood for baking, not only it is higher costs, it is also time consuming, every step, and temperature control, does not comes with a turn of a knob, but through years of experiences. 
The shop looks almost like a furniture shop, from exterior as it piles up lots of wood. So, do ask the locals if you can't find the location. Before coming down, do make sure you come at the right timing to enjoy the freshest bake..
For Bread- the 1st batch comes out at 12.30pm Noon, which are sold out by 2.30pm
For Banana Cakes- The 1st batch comes out at 3.30pm to 4pm.. it will be available till closing time, as they will bake excess, and allow patrons to purchase the over night cakes tomorrow morning.
The best part about this food experience? you get to see old baking methods and enjoy a good cake at the same time.
