只要在JB一提到Ais Kacang，你常常就会听到＂彩虹陈记＂这家老字号。地点就在三楼海鲜对面小贩中心。小弟两年前初到JB时，就已经尝试过，但是觉得不这么样。但是，最近友人又再度强力推荐，所以，决定再试试看，以肯定她的水准。

这个当口，有三样比较受欢迎的食品，Ais Kacang，Tau hu bakar 还有Rojak. 由于我一个人食量有限只点了其中两样。

Where can you find the best Ais Kacang in JB? Ask this question, and most people would recommend Tan Kee at Pelangi. The location is just opposite the famous "San Lou Seafood" at Jalan biru. Located at the corner stall of that hawker center, it is hard to miss it, with the various recommendations from the papers. This is in fact the 2nd time I'm here at the stall, I had once 2 years ago..the taste wasn't to my expectation, but recently there are so many rave reviews on this stall's rojak and Ais kacang, that I decided to give it a second chance.

There are 3 popular dish here , Ais Kacang, Tauhu Bakar, and Rojak, as I'm alone I can only go for 2.

The Version of this Rojak has a watery rojak paste, which I don't like. In fact a good Rojak should use a thick and fragrant shrimp paste. The Tau hu and Fried diughstick is BBQ to give a crispy exterior, that is plus.. Overall taste 2/5 Rojak 酱很水，不是那种浓稠的。虾膏味道不香，吃了不是

很过瘾。唯一不同的是油条有烤过，所以较舒脆。味道：2／5 

The Signature Chocolate Ais Kacang's Main selling point is the free flow of chocolate. However, I find the chocolate taste very ordinary, which I  can find in a lot of stalls in Singapore.Taste: 3/5 陈记的Ais Kacang 主要以巧克力酱出名，任由你加。我吃后感言，很普通。基本上，和我在新加坡吃的没什么不同。味道：3／5

整体，个人觉得食物名过其实，挡主也不是很有礼貌，可能有点名气就高傲起来。
To sum things up, The stall owner's obnoxious attitude makes it all the worst..  I classified this stall as one that has the fame but just don't taste and live up to it...I would give a miss.

Italian food, is quite popular with the locals, and Ros Marino, is one of the few that have been around for a long time. I was told he was started by a Italian, which means the food should be Authentic.

Salmon  Brushetta, RM 18 for starter, excellent  taste, the salmon literately melt in your mouth, with a good mix of tomato..this Brushetta is to die for !!Taste 4.5/ 5

Soup of the day, Mushroom Soup RM 8, nothing special about it..in fact a bit to watery.. Taste 2.8/5

Linguine funghi with smoke duck breast meat RM 28, Linguine,is Al-Dante with a good dose of Olive oil..the  taste is above Avergae, but the combination with smoke duck makes the Pasta tasted a bit on the salty side. Taste 3.3/5

Salmone Alla Norvegese, RM 36 Excellent! the skin is grilled to crispy perfection, Credit to my friend Daniel who strongly recommended this dish. Taste 4.2/5

From another view..its actually quite a big portion.

Dessert time..menu

Of course Tiramisu RM 12 is on my to try list, but this is the worst mistake...this Tiramisu, tasted watery...and not freshly made at all, its so bad we didn't finish it Taste 2/5

 Panna Cotta Al Mango, RM 9 this one tasted better, with rich texture but the Mango is a bit too sweet . Taste 3/5

Damage RM 107, quite a fair price...but if you notice, they forgotten to charge on the starter  dish.

Food: 4/5 but don't order their dessert
Service: 3/5 Waiter look a bit snobbish and waiting time for food is long. 
Price: RM 107 affordable by JB standards
Environment: 4/5 cosy!!
Overall: 4/5 Great place to impress your date if you don;t want to burn a hole in your pocket!!

Pasar Malam at Taman Pelangi // 彩虹花园Pasar Malam

每逢星期二的旁晚6pm,Taman Pelangi的Pasar Malam 就会在Jalan Perang摆档。虽然，是很短的一条路，却有蛮多的小吃选择。这次我有备而来，带着空腹，相机又吃又拍。喜欢吃小吃的各位，记得来试试哦。

路口第一档，盐焗鸡，没买，因为想吃小吃 

素薄饼，一条RM1.30 味道简单，健康又好吃！味道（4／5）

JB的pasar malam, 有卖蔬菜水果。They even sell fruits and vegetables in Pasar Malam

连鱼也有卖！这个新加坡的pasar malam 肯定没有。Even fish!! can't find this at Singapore Pasar Malam

花生／玉米煎饼 rm1.40 两个小的。建议马上吃不然会变软。味道3／5

This is the renown JB big Bao..really huge..didn't buy ..as I'm too full

菜头粿，可说是每个pasar malam, 必吃的小吃！这家隆记，在这里

算是小有名气，要等15分钟。你也可以点了再回头拿。Carrot cake is the HIGHLIGHT in the pasar malam of JB, as you seldom find this dish in their hawker center and kopitiam. This stall Leong Kee is highly recommended by some of the forum friends...the wait is 15 mins long, you may want to order and come back again.

JB的菜头粿，味道比较甜，和新加坡的比较，我会比较喜欢新加坡的。但是，这家的

是我暂时在jb吃过比较好吃的一档。鸡蛋够多，而且有放青葱点缀，相当不错！ RM3 味道3.5/5. The main difference between the taste of Jb's carrot cake VS Singapore, would be the taste of it's sweet sauce, their taste is more sweet as compared, but this particular stall is very generous with the eggs and the spring onion garnish makes the whole dish looks more complete. Taste 3.5/5

Food Republique

Talk about American Grill Burgers in JB, I would Strongly recommend Food Republique at Taman Pelangi.for their authentic taste. Their Australian Beef, has a unique flavor that is very distinguishable upon first bite, couple with caramelized onions, which add sweetness to the cheese burger...Besides their signature bugers, their other pasta dishes, and grill dishes are also consider above average in my opinion.

Grill Bar Steakhouse

 Many readers has been asking why there wasn't many recommendation on Western food in JB. Actually, We did have a few reports, but We are currently clearing our old reports..so, some of it are on the way. 
Grill Bar is one of the many restaurants that I'am keen to try. It's was said they serve one of the best steak in JB. Here is my verdict on their Lunch Set. 

Located in Taman Pelangi the signage is easily spotted.

Decor of the place is more American..but wouldn't consider it grand..lots of Ikea stuff

Almost full during lunch time.

Set lunch starts from RM 39.90 excl Svc Charges...quite Ex for JB standards.

Mushroom Soup

 Bite size mushrooms in every spoon 

Prime beef Tenderloin with Spaghetti... portion is quite small.

Total Damage...pretty EX for lunch notice the RM 3 for a glass of H2O???

Taste wise, nothing to complain to be honest. The mushroom soup is thick, and tasty, as for the spaghetti, a bit disappointed, as I was expecting a whole piece of steak instead of slices of beef. Taste of the spaghetti, is good, each piece of tenderloin is cook to perfection...and spaghetti cook to Al Dante but the portion really is quite small for the price.

Prompt services. The English speaking staff mainly  from philippines. 

Environment : 3.5/5

Decor is simple, not exactly posh. Relax dinning at most.

Value: 2/5

RM 47 is not exactly good value, especially when water is charged at RM3 a bottle. The portion doesn't justified the price tag.

Overall: 3.5/5

Grillbar is definitely one of the better western offering in JB, but with the price tag and food portion, one, can;t really say it is value for $$. One of those places that I would only come if there are discounts.
