Thanks to Mr.Roy Chai for recommending me such a fine eatery!!

This shop is indeed what I would classified as a "Hidden Gem" in JB, tuck away in a housing estate in Masai area, one would never assume there are such delicacies to be found. With a small shop front, the shop serves mainly regualr customers, whom appreciates home style Teochew cooking, what is unique is there is no fixed menu.

All the dishes, are dependent on what is the ingredients available on that day. You can either check out on the white board or ask the boss for recommendation.

980， 真的可以称的上是一个既简单，又美味的世外桃源。位于masai一个不起眼的住宅区，


很多人都会错过这里。网络上也没什么地方又介绍。

可是美食就应该是这样，正所谓，物以稀为贵，出名的，不一定好吃，没名气有实力才重要。

在这里吃东西，有点不一样，因为，没有菜单，一切由当天的食材，决定。所以，那里多数做


熟客生意。

至于如何点菜，你可以问老板娘，并且看一下白板上所写的菜。

Teochew Fish Specialist Sze Char Shop, that is the way I like to call it. This unassuming shop, is located alongside with the famous Ah Jiu Fish head curry, which I had previously featured. From the old exterior, its seemed like many of the Sze tzr stall you can find in JB, but if u notice carefully, the shop is almost full house, most of the time.

From what I understand, this shop sells mainly fish dishes, in various cooking methods, u name it they have it. 

As this is the 1st visit to this shop, I ask the waiter for recommendation of the more popular dishes in this shop.

1）Stir Fried Fish Pieces ( Teochew Style) 18 RM－The Fish meat pieces are prepared in 


typical Teochew sauces, with Dou Jiang, dried chillies, the fish is very fresh, and the taste is 


well balance. Indeed a signature dish not to be missed!!

2）Hei Zuo ( prawn roll with meat wrap in Dou Ki skin) 8 RM－A pretty simple home cook fare, that is tasty.

3）Stir Fried kailan－6 RM , crunchy and nice..just the way I like it.

Service：3／5，although it is crowded, but the service was prompt。

Environment：3／5 although the shop is old, the place is clean and bright, kitchen is well 


organise and toilet is clean. Thumbs up for a old establishment.

Pricing：2.5／5 Total for 2 person, is 43 rm with drinks included, consider average。

Overall：4／5 Must Try Lah!
