Ah Hua kuay Tiao－KSL // 阿华粿条汤KSL

Ask anyone in JB which stall sells the best Kuay tiao soup, most of them will tell you about Ah Hua. This stall is one of those stalls that had withstand the test of times and changing taste since 1950s. Currently, there are 3 outlets that carries this brand, Jalan Segget in Jb town area, Taman Century, and Plentong.
According, to Eric Koh, all 3 stalls are related in one way or another..but hey, that is not important..what matters is which one still maintains the traditional taste?
I decide to start with the Taman Century one..since its nearer..

一说到粿条汤，差不每个新山人，都会介绍阿华。这家很有历史的老字号，目前有三家。
坡底jalan seget, plentong, 还有taman century KSL 门口外的这家。
听说，每一家都是亲戚关系，至于什么关系，并不重要。重点是，那一家还保持原来的味道？

根据Eric koh的可靠消息，这家在KSL是得到真传的。至于好不好吃，就看个人了。

食物：3.5/5 我点的干捞粿条，汤头浓，适合重口味的我，酱料配合得酸辣适中。可惜粿条烫过头，导致
粘在一块。料方面处理得很好，没有骚味。
环境：3/5 新装修，明亮清洁。

Shi De Fu Curry Fish Head // 食得咖哩福鱼头

One of the best claypot fish head curry I had, Thanks to Dean for recommending this great 


place..the location of this hawker is hide away from the main road..location wise..not that far


 away from KSL. The parking is ample, that's plus point. But unfortunately there was a black

out on that day..and it becomes a candlelight dinner for 2 men in the end..


Verdict 


Food: 4/5 The curry is the type that i love..it is rich and flaourful, mixed with 


vegetables..one can finish the whole plate with curry alone..only complain, could give have a bigger fish head..
.
Environment: 3/5 very cooling hawker center, with security guard looking after your 


car.There are great choices of other food as well, reminds me of newton circus in Singapore.


Price: 25 rm for a small fish head

两个男人的烛光晚餐。

为什么会有酱的标题呢？
哈哈，因为那一天，我们去吃时刚好停电。整个食得幅食阁都漆黑一片。结果，我和Dean Lee （这里的网友）就吃了一顿烛光晚餐。

唯一的complain是。 鱼头的揉不多。不过咖哩很浓郁，不会太辣。

Taman Century Back alley street Hawkers // 世纪小巷美食记

Besides the famous Meldrum Walk in Downtown JB, a lot of people is not aware that there is also another back alley street hawker just behind standard chartered bank at Taman Pelangi. The fact that it opens only at night and is only a short street, helps to camouflage the existence. This is the first visit to this street hawker, and I love it...it sure has it simplistic charm of the 60s or 70s..where food are simple and unpretentious. The parking is usually one lane behind the street, or u could park at Shi De Fu hawker and walk over..

So how is the food here?

I was told there are 3 stalls worthy of trying...

1) Fried Kway Teow

2) Johor Laksa

3) Chee Cheong Fun

Unfortunately, there are only 1 stall open for business on Monday...so I guess i have to fill my tummy else where then..

here is my verdict on the Fried kway Teow

Food：2.8／5 The taste is very different from Singapore..where it is not sweet. mainly the taste comes from 


the Guo Hei, which i love..but other than that..the Fried kway teow dosent excite me that much

Environment：4／5， Loves the atmosphere, come experience it once!。

Overall：3.5／5 Worth trying for the environment！

在小巷吃晚餐的感觉是怎么样的呢？


我就觉得很有60／70年代，那种朴实又不做作，食物，简单又经济的Feel。
每次我驾车经过，世纪小巷都想去吃吃，但碍于那里Parking，有限，都没停留。
在此感谢网友Dean Lee, 帮忙当陪导。

食物：2.8／5 炒粿条，不咸，不甜，口味适中。重点在炒的锅气，渗透到粿条里，这点我喜欢。但是，由于，个人口味偏向甜，所以不太习惯。
环境：4／5， 太爽了！很复古的feel，连一些高级餐厅都比不上。哈哈哈。


价钱：3／5 4.5rm一盘
