说到炸鸡，几乎是每个人的最爱，特别是刚炸出来时那种逢面而来的香味更加让人无法抵抗。
在这里，我想说的是炸鸡是我死穴，我几乎可以说对它毫无抵抗力。哈哈。


今天，Edwin要介绍大家的这档炸鸡，可以说是个老字号，听说，前苏丹的最爱之一，根据Edwin, 的说明，早期，这家炸鸡是个路边摊，但是，却客似运来，卖点就是店主坚持采用古早味的木材而不是煤气炉来炸鸡。炸鸡的腌制也包括了一些香料，姜，菜一起放入油锅炸。
今天，远道而来当然就是要见识一下是否还保持原貌。


由于是过了9.30am, 早上的繁忙时段已过，档口并没有那么多人。我和食友Edwin，选择了鸡肉后，便坐下来享用。

mee siam， 令人失望，炒成一团。没有什么特别。

从ungku moshin 入口驾入，经过pos laju , 来到Jalan petaling. 看不到路边摊，取而代之的是一个马来小贩中心。角头家，黄色的大招牌便是了。

鸡肉，不是新鲜炸出来的，所以有点冷，实在可惜，无法真正品尝到它的最佳状态。

炸鸡被砍成小块状，感觉虽然易吃，但少了完整性。可能下次叫他别砍。 鸡肉虽冷，但是还是不失美味，炸到骨头都可享用。可惜是吃不出edwin,说的香料，菜，姜味。味道（3／5）

sambal 辣椒甜甜辣辣，和炸鸡一起吃堪称绝配。

Curry 

整体来说，虽然没有非常令人惊喜，但是还是个不错的炸鸡，可能下次等有新鲜出炉的鸡时才买！

那天经过这家在Seroja 12 的马来餐馆，被他的另类设计吸引。有别于一般马来餐馆，这家选择以黑色，灰色，白色做整间室内，外，给人比较时尚的感觉。


I went pass this shop while I was in Johor Jaya that day, was immediately captivated by their unconventional color schemes...Black and grey..not very typical Malay eatery choice of colors....So I decided to check out their food for lunch...

进入餐馆时，食物的摆设更是让人眼前一亮！ 每道菜都放在陶瓷碗里

选择也多样话。The food display and varieties of this Nasi Padang really impress me.

虽然选择多，我还是选了较普通的炸鸡和空心菜。值得一提的是他的

Blancang ,酱料就有四种。Not to Mention the  Balanchan chilli, and sauces...

我点的炸鸡比较普通，但是配上辣椒吃时，

味道就更上一层楼. Fried Chicken is a bit Average, but eat it with their Balanchan , and it taste so much better.

至于，朋友点的Redang chicken 我觉得比较好吃，

因为肉不会干，比较嫩。唯一可惜的是食物不是很热。My friend ordered the Rendang Chicken,  I manage to have a taste..it was so much better than the Fried chicken..

What is Nasi Kandar?? This a question that is bothering me since I ever come across this dish. Apparently, this dish is very common is Northen Malaysia, namely Penang, is very much like the Nasi Padang that you could find in any Mak Mak store. According to a JB friend from Penang, the main taste difference lies in the curry, which uses different spices, unlike Nasi Padang. 

In Fact, this is one of the rare shops that sells this dish. This food review is written by a Penang resident..to authenticate it's taste..

早前，太子海鲜酒楼是从Taman Molek搬迁到The Zon. 虽然，之前没有试过，
这次Hungryrick的新春聚餐会却敲定在这里举行。
一共12大人，2位小孩，大家都吃，喝，聊得不亦乐乎。
在轻盈的海风，吃着海鲜，喝着啤酒，此乃一大乐事也。
虽然，重点在于聚餐，大家还是不忘美食，小弟当然也得写美食报告。
我们一共点了一下的菜，

鱼露青目42rm 个人认为最好吃的一道菜，口感弹牙，QQ，味美鲜甜，犹如吃鲍鱼般。回味无穷！4.5/5

海鲜锅  40 rm 2.5/5

清炒时菜 38rm 3/5

琵琶鸭子45rm 皮脆肉香，不愧是店内的人气菜之一！ 4／5

太子米粉12rm 味道没阿九的来得脆，香。有点失望。3／5

酥炸脆虾球 45rm 炸得金黄酥脆，虽然没太有特色，却是老少咸宜的菜色3.5/5

The Zon's Tai Son Seafood, is no new kid on the block, in fact it was shifted from Taman Molek to the current location. The change of location enhance its attractiveness as a Seafood restaurant because of the unbeatable sea view, where dinners could relax after a hard day's work. Highly recommended for the grill fish, PiPa duck, and grill squid. see pictures for more information.

Salahuddin bakery

Located along Jalan Dhoby, this aged old bakery has stand the test of time, started in 1937, it is one of the remaining bakery, besides Hiap Joo that still use wood fire for baking. The current owner is the 3rd generation, who is related to the original founder Mr. Salhuddin.

I recommend visiting this place in the morning, before 10 am, because you get to the bakers getting ready to bake the 2nd or third round of the bread.

The various bread, and pastries are laid out on the table for the customers to select, 

Popular choices includes, coconut bread and curry puff.

Comparing the taste of bread, his bread is softer, and has less of the "wood smell" as compared to Hiap Joo bakery.

坡底美食第二站

可以和Hiap joo, bakery，相提并论的旧式面包店， 创业于1937 年。同样坚持用传统木材烘制
面包。

面包的口感，个人觉得比hiap joo， 来的好吃。虽然没卖香蕉蛋糕，但是他们的各式面包让人


看得眼花缭乱。

推荐：咖喱角，椰子面包。

Jing Hua Kopitiam's Nasi Padang Stall // 锦华咖啡店的Nasi Padang

Heard so much about this stall, in town area, but the parking in that area is really atrocious, and really not adviseable to go down during peak timings. Nasi padang is probaly one of the many comon local dishes offered in JB . This stall has been recomended by many friends..I guess I just have to try once right?

I went there at 10.20am, the food just came up, can see from the picture..there is a huge variety of choices..

If you are a Singaporean, plese take not how the system is run in JB for this type of stalls. 

1) 1st, u order Nasi and collect it from the boss.

2) Next you get your own dishes on the plate..lovely..as for portion, u decide but of course u will be charged accordingly

3) next u pay the boss.

Now, there is no fixed pricing, unlike in SIngapre,m 1 meat + 1 veg 2.50 type. The pricing can vary depending on the boss..

what u see in the pic is worth 5 RM, ok for me I guess..cos nasi Padang is lot more expensive in SIngapore..hahaha.

What's Good?

The Sambal, spicy and nice...u can help yourself to it..curry is fragrant.. not the best though, but definitely worthy of recomendation

What's Bad?

Parking is limited, and the seating capacity is really small at this kopi tiam. so go before 11 am if possible, or take away.

TGIF X mas lunch

Xmas season again, this time round, I had a little gathering with some of forum's members. Was told that this is THE place to go for ambiance in town for x mas. Why lunch then, well dinner is almost double the price.. that's why.

By the way, do you know the ever popular Ladies night, is started from TGIF?  Singapore used to have a branch ..but I think its already closed. 

For 20 RM set lunch, sounds like a pretty good deal I must say..so..whats the verdict then?

Food: 1.5/5

for a start the mushroom soup tasted like campbell soup without the water..yucks that totally puts me off..as for main course I had sphagetti with grill chicken breast..pretty safe choice right..oh man, the taste was so ordinary..and meat so dry.. can't believe this is the standards they are offering...

Ambiance: 3/5

Pretty cosy, I must say. but not the posh type..casual dinning at most

Overall: 2/5 don't waste your calories in this one

TGIF 的圣诞午餐。

听说在坡底有一间相当有气氛的西式餐厅，Friday's 食物也有水准。所以，今年决定去试试看。

不说，可能很多人都不知道，其实Fridays，早在1965年就在美国纽约开业，至今所流行的Ladie's night也是Fridays 开始的。

个人口味评语，

食物：1.5／5 
蘑菇汤，太咸，不象汤，像羹，太浓稠。喝不下。感觉像campbell soup。
fish n chip 普普通通，grill chicken pasta ，鸡肉太干，pasta酱太少。整体失败。
价钱：3／5 value lunch 18.90rm 蛮划算。
环境：3／5 一踏入餐馆，就给人很舒适的用餐环境。
整体：2／5 吃一次就够了。
