Who invented San Lou Beehoon?
If you have not eaten the above dish..u must be not exploring JB deep enough..This trademark JB dish..is made famous by San Lou Seafood. The chefs responsible for the invention of this dish started his own restuarant, serving the same fare. Business is brisk..mainly Singaporean patrons I must say. Irregardless..I was told he is not the original person who invented the dish..But, irregardless, i must say his version has the most guo Hei..besides the other shop Ah meng's who happened to be his son-in law. But I was told the REAL person responsible for creating this dish is selling somewhere else..hmmm will go and find out next time..


So what is so special about this dish that makes people go wow? firstly, the beehoon is not just stir fired, but also pan fired..to ensure there is a certian crispness at the bottom. It should be consumed immediately, packing it back would just make the whole dish very oily. The timing of pan frying is where the skills and experience of the chef comes in..too long..it becomes burnt..too short..it will taste like ordinary beehoon..

Stir fried Fish head has its own unique taste, hinting of thai influence..it comes with curry leaves on it
Specialty dou fu..is not your off the shelf type. The dou fu is blended and mix meat into the mixture..reshaped and cool down to the cube shapes..then fried individually...thus each piece is made with sincerity ...taste the difference next  time when u are there..you will simply love this dish.

三楼干米粉,到底谁发明的?


上星期一,和几位网友一块去品尝道地made in JB 的三楼米粉

说到三楼米粉,我第一次吃,是在三楼海鲜餐馆,Jln Biru. 对它的印象不怎么样。


后来才知,现在好吃的,在


1)阿明家乡小炒


2)亚九咖哩鱼头店


两家我都喜欢,但如果是米粉,我就比较喜欢亚九的。


如果有去过亚九的话,都会知道,他标榜着他是原创人,我本来也那么认为,直到jojo说不是他发明的,而是一位老人家。


听后,更混乱,不知哪位知情者可以透露一下?感谢!

米粉:4/5 我个人喜欢这家的米粉,主要是因为,米粉的锅气味比较重,却不会有烧焦味,
证明,厨师火候控制的好。加上他们的特制sambal更让人食指大动。
招牌豆腐: 4/5 吃这道菜,要小心,不要被烫伤。加上mayonnaise , 简单又好吃。


甘香鱼头:2/5 还好,这道菜,阿明略胜一筹。
